Study-
Whether you're in trouble and want God's help or you want to offer up praise for the good things He has done, all your needs can be found in the Word.  Scripture can be used to pray, praise, and learn about God.  This week, we will use verses from Proverbs and Psalms to pray to God.
Proverbs 21:21 He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.
Think-
We have studied Philippians 2 and Jayson told us to let God’s glory shine through us.  To do so we must think the way He thought.  Jesus’ life was the greatest example of righteousness and love. We need to seek to follow His example. How do you follow His example? (Write down your answers in a journal this week.)
Pray-
Lord, Thank you for the way You work in my life.  Thank you for my many blessings.  I pray You will help me to seek righteousness.  I pray You will help me to show love in everything I do. I pray I will follow Your son’s example and continuously pursue honesty and compassion for others.  I trust Your ways will lead me to prosperity and honor. Amen

Study- The glory is not for us.  God will do amazing things through us if we remain humble and commit ourselves to God.
Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Think-
What have you committed to Christ?  In what ways are you working to build His kingdom?  (Write down your answers in a journal this week.)
Pray-
Lord, Thank you for your presence.  Thank you for your power and your unfailing love for me.  I pray I will commit everything I do this day to you Lord. Take my school life, my home life, and my relationships and use them for your purpose Lord.

Study- When you are troubled or seeking guidance, God is there.  Use His word to speak to Him.
Psalm 145:18-19
The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.  He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.
Think-
Who do you turn to in times of struggle?  Do you seek God’s guidance?  (Write your answers in a journal this week.)
Pray-
Lord, I praise you for your presence.  I am grateful for your unconditional love.  I know when I call, You are there. I know You hear me and answer.  I believe You will fulfill my desires according to Your will.  Thank you for being my strength and redeemer.

Renounce your rights- Refuse to take the glory for yourself
Think-
Do I proclaim God in all that I do?  Do I tell of God’s glory or accept praise for myself? (Write your answers in a journal this week.)
Pray-
I praise you God for who you are.  Thank you for your steadfast love.  Thank you for Your light you shine upon us.  Lord I pray people will see You through me.  Give me the courage and stretgth to turn all recognition and praise back to You.  Remove all selfishness and pride from me Lord. It is because of Your great love and faithfulness that I am able to do good.

Study-
Psalms 9:1-2  I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
So often, we take for granted the blessings of our daily lives; the conveniences, the safety, the luxuries.  Remember all that we have is from God, and He gives in abundance.
Think-
How often do you thank God for His work in your life?  What do you often take for granted? (Write your answers in a journal this week.)
Pray-
God, I praise you with my whole heart.  I give you thanks with my whole heart. I think of all You have done, are doing, and will do for me.  I am glad in You. I rejoice in You. Lord, I give all the glory to You.

Study-
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Think-
Do you trust in God’s plan for you?  Do you find yourself trying to solve problems without Him? (Write your answers in a journal this week.)
Pray-
Lord, I come before you humbled. You are a wonderful father to me, yet I still struggle to trust in you without wanting to lean on my own understanding, logic and reason. I am so thankful for your patience, as I learn to lean on and trust you more. Cleanse my heart from the pride that often gets in my way from fully trusting your guidance.

Psalm 19:14  Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Reread all of this week’s scripture.  Has your prayer life changed?  Have you seen a new power or purpose in God’s Word?  We are made for God’s glory.  We must humble ourselves and praise Him.
Think-
What other verses can I apply to my prayers?  What scriptures have I memorized that I could give back to God? (Write your answers in a journal this week.)
Pray-
Lord, thank you for all that you are and the ways you work in my life.  Let my days be a reflection of You.  Let Your glory shine through me.  Let the words from my mouth, the thoughts in my head, and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight.  You are my rock and redeemer.  I choose to follow You.
